One of the BIGGEST Football fans of the Lamar Warriors! (plus, I have most of the boys in my classes) RECORD: 4-0
This has been a very busy week! HOMECOMING! We had dress up days, raffles, competitions, games, and on Friday we had a huge parade with students creating and completing the floats! EXCEPT one.......the most important one! I was in my class 20 minutes prior to the parade when I received a phone call, "Mrs. Arnold, no one got us a trailer for the parade, will you bring your truck and drive us in the parade?" How could you refuse the "Warrior Football Team?" Of course my truck was dirty, they didn't care, LOL. I sent my students by the road to watch the player while I took off down to the football field where there parade was to start! My plans were to film the parade and pep rally for the Sr. Video (something we do every year in my class). I had a student film the parade, then after the parade, I reached the gym where we have our pep rally and "I was 'chosen' to be the speaker for the pep rally"......LOL, it was fun, but I didn't get much pictures until last night! The boys (football) always look for my pictures that I take of them on Friday night! I transfer them over to a folder on their server and they can view them when ever they are logged into a school computer!

I feel I am becoming a professional photographer! LOL

Show me your recipe!

I love to cook and have lots of recipes ranging from early 1900's to present! I pull my old cookbooks out and use many recipes.....so I will post one that is really good!
1-hr rolls
2 pkgs yeast (or 2 tbsp of yeast if you buy bulk)

Heat together until luke warm
Mix together
4 1/2 cups flour

Take pans and divide real butter and melt. Mix all above together in a large bowl. Let stand 10 minutes. Roll and cut into desired shapes, turn each roll in butter, let rise 30-45 minutes and bake at 425 for 10-15 minutes! Best rolls ever

What would be the first thing you change?

I am making lots of changes in my life (for the good, LOL) I am almost complete with my masters in counseling, I am getting a different horse trailer; I attend football games ( I use to not go as much because I have so many basketball games to attend); we have wood heat this year in our home and have connected wiring for a generator in case we lose our electricity like we do every year for days.....this year we will stay worm and have lights! YIPEEE

So what would you change or have changed in the last few months for the better? I am interested because I am still looking to make changes for the better! We are planning our huge deck and screen porch, not sure if we will do this before winter or spring.

I didn't think they made "Males" like this anymore!

Especially "Young" ones! Does your husband carry your dinner plate to the table for you? Does he open doors for you? How about protect you from evil? Such as 'bad', 'ugly' words from others? How about, that he is very 'smart' but doesn't want you to know how smart he really is? Hummmm you are thinking! ME TOO! And is he 16 years old? Does he play Football, dedicated to himself and his team?

I have not seen one of these young gentlemen in years! But I have now! BB's boyfriend is this guy that I have been describing! Since they have started going out, not once has she had to carry her lunch plate (at lunch) to their table, he always waits for her after class, carries her books, opens her locker for her, and walks her to every class. He waits for her in the parking lot in the morning, makes sure she gets to the school safely and tops all this with his cute smile and his blue eyes glistening at BB, his head held high and proud. How could a parent not be proud of a young man like this? Oh, did I mention that before he leaves he shakes BB's dads hand? All this from a 16 year old, who had only been on this earth 16 years and knows more than some men that have been here twice his age! Yes, that is 32 years!

Well he is a Warrior.......Lamar Warrior! He is the center for our team, and I am very proud of him and happy that B made a good choice in choosing him! He is so sweet! Thank you Lord!

Powder Puff is BACK.....

Fundraiser: We had our simulated NFL Powder Puff Draft today at school during our lunch time! IT WAS AWESOME! We went all out and had our Principal as "Roger Goodell" with the Warrior Football players (4 head coaches and their assistant coaches) as they chose their players and Dave M. the assistant to Mr. Goodell! The overhead in our new lunch room served as our viewer as we placed each draft pick under their coach.

I think every student in the school was 'packed' in our lunch room to see who would be drafted......and while I was running the overhead/computer and actually brought this "powder puff games" to life for LHS, I hired Mr. Goodell and Mr. Meador to help bring this HUGE event to reality after weeks of recruiting!

The games will be held October 12, at 6 p.m. at the LAMAR WARRIORS FOOTBALL FIELD, "FIELD OF CHAMPIONS"! I am so excited! I just hope I can get all the work done before the deadline! OMGosh, I am getting nervous and excited!
The point is, it is for the students, that is why I do the extra hours...... for the students......We had so many involved today, and that is why I am a teacher!

It is Official!!!!!! My daughter

Our Warriors! left side #63 ~ Steven (center on O Line)

BB and Steven are together! I blame Chemistry lab on this relationship, LOL. They became lab partners and from their, a relationship! #63, center for the OUTSTANDING Lamar Warriors and an outstanding CENTER for the team is a great boy who I know BB is very happy with! B is also the manager for the team, so she travels everywhere they go, so it is a double plus for her! LOL It is funny, she told me she met this guy and she had to tell me all about him, I think he knocked her off her feet! Anyway, last night at the game, out of 243 pictures that I took, 1/4 were of him! That was a request from my daughter!

"2-0"
WE WON LAST NIGHT WITH ONLY 2 MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME, we were behind by 1 pt. 12-13......our boys did NOT give up within the 2 minutes we scored a touch down and kept them going nowhere on 4th down, got the ball back and downed it at 14 seconds in the ballgame!

What an exciting game! LOVE THAT WARRIOR FOOTBALL....AIN'T NOTHING LIKE IT!

Funny Post....

"What do you think is wrong here ?" The boys sure could tell ya....Boys, LOL

I can't help but laugh....it was one of those moments that you just had to be there! I teach a lot of the football players, I also take pictures for them at ballgames for two reasons; 1) we make the senior video each year, so we collect as much footage as we can 2) the students LOVE looking at pictures that I place on the server (a place that all can get to). I also place these pictures on computers in my classroom so the football players can place them on their own videos if they want. EXCEPT........today the boys were looking at the photos again, and I overheard them talking about how they want to print these pictures off and PROVE that "so n so" is not doing their job on the line and "so n so" is letting his man go by him, and "so n so" is not Bla, Bla, Bla.....I never realized my pictures were used for critiquing players!

I stopped to listen when the players turned to my desk and started asking me if we could print the pictures off to prove to the player (so n so's) they are NOT doing their job! Keep in mind, we won 47-6. I didn't realize I was becoming an "Assn't Coach" LOL.....LOL

I love having the players in my room, they amaze me how much they study the game and how little they don't study doing their 'real' work....Got'a love them~ AND yes, I am understanding! Just one of those 'serious' (not really on my part) moments that you just had to be there and I couldn't quit laughing!!

Happy 77th Birthday & 17th Birthday!

Happy 17th baby girl
My good friends mom and Chris (grandson)

Ready for Friday Night!

(Sorry, couldn't find a picture on my computer of my dad, I will have some soon) My dad and mom came over for dinner, we celebrated my dad's 77th birthday (September 2nd)and my youngest daughter's birthday (September 1st) today by having a cookout! My dad is 77 years old, hard to believe he is this age, he can still work me all day long and I have to have day off to recover, when he gets up the next day and goes at it again! LOL

BB is 17th, just 8 more months until she goes off to college! Hard to believe my baby is going to be leaving her nest! I am proud that she has the desire and determination to go to college. Right now her career choice is "Speech Language Pathology and Audiology"! I know she will do well in any major she decides to go into!

Getting ready for another week at school AND "Warrior Football"! I am so proud of our boys! I have most in my class and we have so much fun talking about Football! Be traveling to Pottsville this weekend to watch them play! Hope it is cooler! Football weather! :)

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL is here...!!!!

Football Friday Night Way
Warming up ~ pre-game
Defense holding them back
Capturing lots of yardage
The 'Water' Girl ~ Oops "Manager"
After the winning game, headed to field house~ Some tire boys

OMGosh, what an exciting night for football! Beginning of season is always a great feeling! I still have problems with some of the 'hard' hits that my boys take! Yes, I know, they have pads on for protection, but you have to understand, some of these hits are unexpected, so the body is not ready for some of the impact! As always, I am proud of our boys! We won and that is always a good feeling! BB is the manager and she jumps around and stays focused, I do not know how, because I have to watch the game and she is focusing on making sure the boys have towels, water, ice and letting them vent to her when they are upset!
