Hide and seek!

OMGosh, where have I been in the last few weeks? LOST I can tell you! A word of advice and its free! BEFORE your child becomes a senior start all the paperwork for them to attend college! I have writers cramp from all the paperwork, letters of recommendations and scholarship forms that I have completed and more are coming in! You can fill one out and 10,000 come back needing copies of transcripts, shot record, ACT scores.........etc, etc, etc.

I know it is worth it, but it is hard work. Get folders (started now) and place college names on each folder that your child is possibly attending, when you get each admission completed and any papers you receive from the college, place it in the appropriate folder! *be sure to check each folder often! More info coming soon!

For the time being I am going to Hide and you can try to Seek me, but I am not sure I will be found!

Goodbye! (tears)

Momma holding back the tears! *see poster on wall behind me? Cool huh?
Ready for Senior announcement and the long walk to the coach!
All of us are trying to keep our composure!

Our special moment!

B is good about letting the coach know what is going on, on the floor and what play they should run!

Making her free throw *see the ball going in the goal? Yes, momma was taking pictures!

Fighting for the ball! Knee brace is also dangerous, could hurt someone!

As my baby is ending her senior basketball season, a chapter closes in her life and another one opens. It is going to be hard for her NOT to be a part of the team after 8 years of being a "Lady Warrior"! Born at 4 lbs 4 oz she has come on powerful and strong into this world. She has had #34 every year except one, so we are opting to purchase her uniform and hang it on her bedroom wall beside all her basketball, cross country and track medals. A true athlete who took every event serious and put her heart all in to it!

Goodbye to a season and life time of great basketball and to my daughter who is now starting a new chapter "college" OMGosh! Her major is "Speech Language and Audiology" short version is Speech Path.

Stats for B p/game
Average Pts: 17
Rebounds: 5
Assists: 4
Free throw: 75%

I am so proud of you my sweet B, you will be missed at LHS, but the future holds a great person, friend, and Christian to go out in this world and make a difference for the better!

The Pioneer Woman ain't got nothing on me! LOL

Rolling my dough out!
(dough as in food, not $$$$)

Getting ready to cut my dough (remember ladies, not $$$)

Now this is YUMMMMEEEEE my $ is rising! LOL

Ok, so the Pioneer Woman (http://www.thepioneerwoman.com/) is smart, can cook and has this awesome way about her photography and of course her cowboy the "Marlboro Man", she has the best kitchen in the world, I would stay in their recently built guest house they finished........................Ok, OK, so she does have what seems to be a perfect life! I love to cook, recently have not had time for it and as my daughter graduates this year, I wonder if I will still love it like I use to!

I received a bread machine for Christmas one year, and never used it! It takes me less time to make my dough than mixing and throwing it in a machine! Sorry ladies, I am old fashion! I like the 'real' deal!

They turned out well and as we eat them up, I am thinking I have to not eat anything else for the rest of the day, cause in one roll I meet my CUT off for calorie intake! LOL

Basic Roll dough

2 cups milk
2 tbsp Crisco
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
Heat all this up to luke warm.

1 cup warm water
1 1/2 tbsp yeast (I buy bulk)
(maybe two packages in store bought)
Place yeast in water for about 10 minutes

6-or so cups of flour
1 egg

Once all this is complete, mix milk mixture, yeast and about 2-3 cups flour in a large bowl, mix well, add egg. Kneed rest of flour in dough. When dough is a little sticky it is ready to place in a glass bowl with a little oil in. Let rise until double. Kneed and let set for about 10 minutes.

Halve the dough and roll out, place butter, sugar and cinnamon to desired consistence. Roll, cut and place in pans with a little oil. Once they are rose, place in heated oven around 400 degrees. Now ladies, my oven is a propane gas stove, so my heat is different than gas or electric. Feel your way around and watch closely!

Icing:
1/2 cup pet milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp butter
powdered sugar to desired consistency

when the rolls comes out of the oven, pour the icing on in stream lines. EAT right away with a glass of ice cold milk~

This one is for my brother!

As you see the athleticism and strength these boys have! They are true athletes

As I was going through my scrapbooks, it amazes me how time 'flies' and it seems like yesterday! We were fortunate that my dad loved to rodeo and as we grew up, he was all about making sure we loved the sport too! I am very thankful, it paid for a lot of my college (back in the day), as I attended college on a rodeo scholarship.

This is my older brother Bobby and he loved to bull ride! AND if you do not know, cowboys are real "athletes", Bobby would come home everyday after football practice and hit the weights in his room. You have to be strong to hold yourself on a bull, you see, all there is holding you on, is the bull rope......and some rosin. Your hand is holding you and the rope on the bull! I can't ever remember sitting in the stands, as a participant I am always behind the shoots! Yes, I do hear language and few other things, but you know I wouldn't trade any of this for money! I have memories worth $1,000,000! Still riding and running barrels and will as long as I am able!

Team Roping Champion - AHRA - rodeo association
3 year National Finals in Bull Riding - NHSRA

Baby Deer (yes he is a pet)

Baby Deer and friends at the Super Bowl Party

Yes, he is a pet! My friends raised this deer from a baby, and yesterday during our super bowl party, Baby Deer wanted to be a part of the party! He would not leave and every time we opened the door to the "man room" he would come in and wanted to stay with us. He loves apples, pop tarts and you can't believe he is a pet!
I know that it is hard to believe, you have to see it to believe it~ Once he is this size they thought he would leave, but NO, he wonders off and comes back home everyday! His horns will be growing soon and his playful time may be some painful times!

Woke up to this..........uhrrrrrrrrrr!

Over night this happened!

Couper 'loves' the snow and playing in it!

Faithful generator keeping our electricity up and running

We picked up 3 inches over night, lost electricity from the storm, bringing out the generator to get our home some lights, OMGosh, it is so dark when you lose electricity! I had to fill my way around, I felt lost in my own home!
They are calling for more snow tonight, the problem is we are missing days from school we will have to make up, but basketball games. We are in Jr. High District, Sr. High is next week, we are 3 games down already, we have to make these up with no days to make up!
This has been a memorable winter!
