BB running one of the plays
resting after 3 games (playing in a gym with no air-conditioning)

The girls practice on Tuesday's and plays on Thursday nights. Usually playing 2 games, but tonight they played 3. Started out slow, but ended well. It will be exciting to see them play when season starts! They are a quick team, do not have huge posts girls, but have quickness~

Trouble or Not Trouble?

This face tells it all. I almost think she may need a body guard in her older years! First, we have to get her through Kindergarten! She may need my cell number in fear of another 'call' to the parents! LOL!

How we weave our web!

Sunlight shining thru a spider web weaved on our deck

This web makes me think about a mother taking care of herself and her children. Mothers are givers, they give child birth, she raises children, then her children gives birth and she becomes a grandmother, continually giving. What is a mothers greatest gift? Read 1st Timothy 1-7

Your child comes into this world knowing nothing. You are the biggest influence on your child, you are the link between them knowing God, having faith, a relationship with Jesus and doing what is right. This web weaved is the same in our daily lives are through the choices we make. What a tangled web we could weave by making the wrong choices.

It takes about one hour for a spider to construct an elaborate web of silk thread. It takes 1 second for us to make the wrong choice and get stuck in that web!

Nothing like family....

Fallon eating her homemade chocolate cake and homemade ice cream
Kale loves Cowboy

Eating homemade ice cream and watching the movie "RV"

Thought my favorite son-n-law was cleaning my kitchen, but he was going back for seconds!

It looks like they needs some help with the 'toys'

Wow, look at that piece of cake! (2x's)

Wondering who he can throw this ball at!

Ice blue eyes

Sissy trying to pull Bubba away from Cowboy, dynamite comes in small packages!

We celebrated Paul, Fallon and Kale's birthday (July birthdays) with a supper and cake/ice cream last night. There is nothing like family! Especially the grandchildren....they are so much fun and funny! Don't get me wrong, I loved my girls, the grandchildren are 'grand'. I have forgotten what 'lil' ones say and do. Like Fallon picking up Bubba's legs to pull him and thought she would get him moved before she finally gave up. She is 2 and he is 6, dynamite comes in small packages! We had a great time eating, laughing, joking and watching the movie RV!

Nothing like "dieting"

Already learning "diet coke and candy bar"
Loves the icing!

Like the rest of the family, we 'love' our sweets! For Fallon's birthday, 'mommy' took cupcakes to her daycare school to share with all her friends!

Sterling & Jeff ~ Texas Family

Sterling and 'Lubbock Fireman' Jeff

My dear nephew Jeff is such a sweetheart! I feel anyone who 'catches' Jeff will be some "lucky" woman (hint, hint Sterling)! This would give me another excuse to go to TEXAS!

One stipulation, if Jeff gets married, his 'Black Corvette' will no longer be a single man's car, so he will have to send his Vet to ME in Arkansas to take care of! WooHooo!!

Happy Birthday to my children...

Paul, your favorite mother in law wants to wish you, your children (MY babies) a Very Happy Birthday. Kale had his birthday July 5th, Fallon's birthday is July 17th and Paul's birthday is July 21st. Hope you have many more.

Goofie......Girls night out (or not)

Girls night out.....(at home that is) BB and her bestfriend had this bright idea to 'dance' and 'sing'. The funny thing, they video'd themselves on my video camera, I guess they didn't realize as a mom, "I just had to see it"! I never laughed so hard. These two were so much fun watching. I think everyone should have 'teenagers'.

Best "EVER" Sandwich

Oh my gosh, there is something about fresh bacon, garden tomato, mayo and toast. I could eat a bacon/tomato sandwich everyday, but my doctor says NO, just every now and then....if I could figure out how to take the 'fat' out of bacon, I would definitely eat bacon daily!

Since I am leaving for my workshop, my hubby thinks I should have his lunch waiting......I thought my summer's were suppose to be for 'fun'....anyway, I fried bacon and he can make a sandwich when he comes in even tho I will not be here! He still owes me an anniversary dinner....any suggestions anyone?

Off to work I go!

Texas family ~ If you can't find me, I'm in TEXAS!

Pappy helping Caleb (Pappy is my Uncle Reggie)

Caleb and his uncle Jeff

I love my Texas family, we have been going each summer to visit and this summer we didn't get to hit the town of Lubbock, I miss the shopping, visiting and EATING.....one thing this family loves to do...... Uncle Jeff is helping Caleb with is "boy toy!"

I love Caleb's 'toys', but I know Pappy will not let me around them, or if he does it will be with Supervision.....when I was young, my "pa" took a peddle tractor, put a motor in it, I believe he was making my tractor ride 'fun' and making it easy for me...LOL, one day when outside riding, I ran out of gas, I just pulled it up to the water faucet and stuck the water hose in and filled' r up! Lil did I know the difference between water and gas (I was young). It passed on!

Canning Peach jelly today!

Kitchen in a mess!
13 jars of Peach Jelly

Still have some peaches left to eat....these were picked yesterday.
I had not planned on canning this morning, but after getting B to the gym at 5:30 a.m. to leave for basketball camp, I came home and rode my horse. The taste of a fresh picked sweet red haven peach would not escape my mind.....so I got in the car and drove about 8 miles down the road to see if the peach stand was open....as I got closer, my mouth was watering and I couldn't get the smell of fresh cooked jelly and fresh fried peach pies out of my mind, so I sure was hoping the stand was open and IT WAS OPEN. I couldn't decide how many peaches I wanted and after talking to Fred he informed me he would have peaches for another 2 weeks, I knew I was well on my way of returning for more peaches.....so this morning I made 13 jars of peach jelly, froze peaches and froze enough cooked peaches for fried pies and still had some left over!!!! I had already canned 12 jars of fresh strawberry jelly up last month.....yumee! That is why I can't lose weight, I love to cook and eat! LOL

Went to a Barrel Race last night ~ NBHA

Lil Bit- so proud of her last night
BB rode her best on Lil Bit to win some $

A mom so proud of daughter and her 'horse(s)'....B had run 2 of her 3 horses entered last night at the barrel race. The times were 1000th of a second a part, the first horse she ran was Bunny(you can see her picture on the Archive links) and she had a good run, turned the barrels really well, you can see her improving each run, she is my youngest one and we are seasoning her, I thought the time was slow (at the time anyway), but proud of her. She ran her main horse second and Gypsy turned some good barrels, ran OK, but the dirt was deep and a little wet, when Gypsy is unsure of the ground and knows she may slip and hurt her best friend and rider B, she won't dig in like she normally does, but was placing in the 1D. The one 'great' thing about Gypsy, when we see the ground looking good, she sees a whole different thing by 'feel'. She will do what she has to, to protect B. Even if that means slowing down.
Then the last horse she was running was Lil Bit. She had been injured and was out for almost a year before coming back this March. Bringing her back has been a feeling of insecurity, fear, nerves, excitement, anticipation because she is special. She is small and quick, you better be ready when you run her and hang on. She went in and turned a nice first barrel, I knew if she could get past the 2nd barrel, she would have a good run. When turning the 2nd barrel Lil Bit gives you enough room for your leg to scrape all the way around the barrel, so your leg must be up against her and not 'fat', LOL. She turned the 3rd barrel with a stumble due to the ground, pushing herself and cowing the turn. When Lil Bit runs, she pens her ears and is flat lined. She is so much fun to watch when she runs. Maybe one day I will get a video on here for you. Once they called out the time, I was so excited. One of the fastest runs she had made there and placed 2nd in the 1D. She won 2 checks totally $90, not bad for one night, the fun and dirt that we felt when we finally got home last night! I couldn't go to sleep because I was so proud of all 4 of my girls!

Slowing Down to Grow

Mems and Fallon
If we are really going to meditate on the Lord and His word, stillness is a key. "Cease striving and know that I am God" (Psalms 46:10). When we meditate, we are able to hear the voice of God in a fresh, invigorating manner. With the pressures of our lives, begin to 'be still before the Lord." Nothing will impact our life more than the power practice of meditation.
I feel so blessed to have the time with my grandchildren, to help show them the way to Jesus, hand in hand!

How could I ever say "No" to this face?

How can you say "No" to this precious face? I'm Hooked

Fallon enjoying the Park with Mems
Fun with grandchildren is something I could never explain! The joy and the laughter comes so natural with the things that my two talk about. When Fallon's older brother kept bothering her (this past weekend, they stayed with Mems), and he would pick on her while she was trying to focus on her busy little life with her baby dolls, turned grabbed her older brother (who is 6) put him in a headlock and would not let him go. You see, she is like her mother, she can handle her own situation! LOL I am just the referee!

BB and Basketball (yep has started)

BB warming up for games
Basketball has started! It is July and we have started...just seems our last game was last month. Well it kind of was last month, BB wanted to go to UT to the Lady Vols (Pat Summitt) basketball camp in June, here it is July and we are practicing and playing summer games. The first game you could tell they were nervous as a group, but the second game, they started coming alive. BB in the first game scored 3 (3pt) shots and 1 (2pt) shot. In the 2nd game I believe she scored 6 pts. Maybe 8. I was so engulfed in the game that I didn't even take pictures! "MY Bad"........... I will post pictures and try to keep up with the stats better at the next game!

Jesus, the light of my life

The light entering my driveway to my home

When we stand in front of God, our Father, He judges us for our rewards, not our past sins! Jesus Christ is the only way you can get to God and Eternal Life. Because God loves us so much, He sent Jesus, who is sinless, because a sinner could not bear another ones sin, but Jesus can. 1st Peter 2:24. He Himself bores our sins! Once we accept Jesus, God "puts away" (meaning lifting the burden off us) God the Father removes the burden of sin and consequences. Because of Jesus ~ He has us living free of sin(this does not mean you will not sin) Jesus bores our sins from the time of Adam. Jesus "Paid" the consequence for our sins, He laid down His life for us!

I am still amazed that God loves 'me' so much that He would send His own son for 'all' our sins! If you have not seen the movie "The Passion of Christ", please do so. I know it will touch you in ways that maybe nothing else will. I know my husband cried when we sat as a family to watch this movie, it touched his heart, he was upset over crying, but as I explained to him, if he had not cried, then I would be worried to the point of him not having a soul! I knew this movie touched him knowing what Jesus went through for US! How many of you would go through what Jesus did? Probably none of us, how could you stand carrying the cross, or having nails in your hands? If you have lost your relationship with Jesus, no better time than now to regain that relationship. As our world is going 'down the tube', you do not have to go with it, you can go with Jesus!

As my love grows for Him and I yearn to learn more, I pray that my family has the same yearning as I do for Him.

B's Car

B's car ('04 Pontiac Sunfire)
I really did not look forward to this moment, it was a anticipation that I could have waited another couple of years, but it was time for my youngest to get her drivers license, Oh MY, I had forgotten with my oldest, Stephanie, and the driving experiences!

I now believe I would have been better off throwing her in the pasture with a old truck and horse trailer, telling her, "don't come home until you can shift, drive in a straight line, and back this trailer without denting it or the truck" (laughing). That way I wouldn't be so nervous!
